The Who
I like creating through a futurist abstract lens. I love to pull inspiration from the past into the present, with a focus on the future. I give my "me" time to God and ask him to direct my mind and the work of my hands when I am creating. I am still fascinated at times what the spirit will produce through me. I am only a conduit. The first focus of my work in the present, is to offer an emotional safe place. As a futuristic artist my heart is to create a glimpse of God's future & our purpose through my art of course, and my nature is to see a better future for the oppressed and downtrodden. (Mathew 25:35-40)
The Why
The purpose of my art is to create a visual space for emotional healing and recovery thru ordered elevated thinking using abstraction. I want to extend the incredible grace that God has brought to my life to others with my gifts. By using color theory, shape, and texture, I invite the spirit to bring a new frequency of hope to emotional pain. It is a scientifically proven that viewing certain combinations of colors produces different frequencies in the brain. This response is both physiological and physiological. The effects can initiate healing or opening new neuro pathways to our emotional scars. This is who I am as a person, a wife, a mother and an artist. Emotional pain in life is a given. It is my calling to be able to produce safe places that bring hope and life both in my words and my art.
The sale of my art offers me the ability to not only perpetrate healing through my work but to use the proceeds help those in need of vital resources in life. In aiding the non-profits near me with immediate needs like food, shelter and clothing in my area and beyond. I support families and organizations that have touched my heart over the years. I find satisfaction in the ability to provide for the needs of others this way. Mathew 25:35-37 This is my mission and field.

The How
What is it? I hear this repeatedly, yet it means I have succeeded in creating something fresh and new. I prefer to create with certain colors combinations and textures that offer a sense of organization and calm. I love to pull inspiration from the past into the present, with a focus on the future. I enjoy creating pieces that provoke wonder and are soft and pleasing to look at. As a futurist, my heart is to explore the goodness of God in the hope of a better future by imagining what will be. When the viewer encounters my work, I want them to consider the future and feel order, calmness and see opportunity.
I encourage the viewer to assess the space we presently occupy and consider the space we will occupy in the future. We determine the paths of our future by the decisions we make today. Some of my pieces provoke an interactive response in a multi-sensory way. This invites interaction with the power to change a current position. Some of my inspirations include architecture, space colonization, digital technology and quantum physics.
Education & Experience
Born a second-generation artist, Brande's creative journey was infused by heritage and built on a solid understanding of the arts. She attended a year of college at CBC Conway but was challenged financially during that time and had to step away. When she opened her online vintage boutique in 1999, Victory Vintage Boutique, she discovered fashions with delicate handmade details that were in need of a new life. The need to give new life to vintage heirlooms naturally led her into her own successful design line. Her business flourished for years then it turned into her own costume design business. Her online shop is where she developed skills in fashion and beauty photography, including a brief exploration in underwater photography. She collaborated with well-known designers and photographers. This season of experience in millinery & costume design led to the evolution of craft in the arts.
From costume & headgears to installation art & painting, Brande's work is recognizable no matter the medium.
She is self-taught (by infusion of heritage) in multidisciplinary mediums of paper art, construction sculpture technique, assemblage, mural design, concept development, painting, multi-sensory, installation art and more.
