I wanted this piece to bring a lovely pastel color pallet into the space. The layered properties bring dimension and beauty no matter what angle it is viewed. As a futurist I am inspired by what is to come, space travel and more. I love mid-century architectural designs that had an innovative provocative twist. I am drawn to designers like Ricardo Bofill, Frank Lloyd Wright and Luger & Maul.
I love working with a variety of materials and this piece is an example of a mixed media 3-dimensional interpretation with dramatic effects. It has a vertical tactile feel, with distinctly different surfaces that offer a variety of textures and light reflecting properties to come through.
The purpose of my work is to invoke a vision of a futuristic world that invites you to take part. I like to include many geometric features, clean lines, and a neutral pleasing palette rich in metallics with high reflectivity. When the viewer encounters my work, I want them to see my inspirations of industrial architecture, digital technology, futuristic battle armor tempered with timeless style. This piece has installed hanging hardware and is ready to hang.
