In theory, major life choices are shaped by a layered human process that blends rational evaluation with emotional meaning-making. People tend to weigh risks and rewards, imagine future outcomes, and compare options against their values and identity, but these processes are filtered through memory, bias, social influence, and fear of loss or regret. Rather than being purely logical decisions, these choices emerge from an internal negotiation between what feels safe, what feels meaningful, and what aligns with one’s sense of self and desired future. This can also be greatly influenced by an underlying faith.
In this piece, I layered these choices over the lifting spirit or smoke thread that guides my decisions in the way of life and healing. The spirit of life itself, in God.
Psalm 139:24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
